No, You Don't Need That Much SPF (And 3 Other SPF Myths Busted)

We all know we should be wearing sunscreen all the time, around the clock, no matter what, lest we burst into flames and crumble to dust, right? With the recent flood of SPF-filled primers, foundations, powders, and face mists, it feels like you aren’t fully covered until every single one of your beauty products contains a tongue-twisting list of sunscreen ingredients. But should you double up on sun protection—or is your trusty moisturizer-with-SPF enough? I asked Mona Gohara, dermatologist and associate clinical professor of dermatology at Yale University, to set me straight.
